Samuel:
My initial idea's consisted of the films, Shrooms, Taken, Fight Club and Black Swan because I had the idea that our two minute opening to a thriller could include the below. This would ensure a clever twist in the storyline, which we could slyly show during our trailer, poster and finally the opening two minutes that we are planning to complete. I chose Shrooms because I like the editing being used when the characters in the film are "tripping" on the drug to create a perfect effect which would link into our character having schizophrenia. Taken was another of my choices, due to the fact that it has a brilliant storyline and constantly makes you wonder what will happen. Also, it could happen in reality, which always leaves the viewer thinking. Fight Club and Black Swan are relatively the same kind of film due to the psychological factor and schizophrenia within. Finally, I wanted to have the juxtaposition of good and evil consealed in our opening to create a traditional type of film; my idea was to have a person who is schizophrenic and his inner self juxtaposes his outer self.

Jack:
For my initial ideas, I drew inspiration from multiple films. They are all linked in there sense they're thrillers, but their sub genres are also very similar. I have seen all of the listed films, and enjoyed them all; meaning it would make complete sense to base our thriller around the same area. "The Dark Knight" was particularly inspirational for me as the dark, intense and mysterious aspects to the film, we're some key themes I want to convey. A film which was also drawn to my attention is "Brothers" - In which a man goes into the US Army, then being placed in Afghanistan, where he see's some terrible things, mentally scaring him. This physiological schizophrenia allows a huge range of potential ideas that could materialise into a very unique opening sequence.
